Israeli army forces are put on high alert after a recent arson attack by Israeli settlers left two Palestinians dead in the occupied West Bank.

On July 31, Israeli settlers set fire to the home of the Dawabsheh family in the village of Duma, near Nablus. The family's 18-month-old toddler, Ali, died in the arson attack and his 32-year-old father, Sa’ad, succumbed to his wounds on Saturday.

The mother and a four-year-old son of the family, who were also severely burned in the attack, are in critical condition.

Tel Aviv authorities have since beefed up the presence of Israeli forces in the occupied territories to crack down on possible protests over the Israeli settlers' atrocities.

Tensions are running high in the occupied territories after thousands of Palestinians took to the streets in Duma on Saturday to attend the funeral ceremony of Sa’ad Dawabsheh.

The Israeli settlers’ attack on the Palestinian family has elicited public outcry outside Palestine, as well.

In an interview with Press TV, London-based Palestinian human rights activist and writer, Jafar M. Ramini, described the present situation as “highly emotional” for all Palestinians, calling on people from across the globe to pay attention to the Palestinian people’s plight.

“The entire world community should understand this … (The) racist, supremacist (Israeli) regime ... keep killing, they keep destroying, they keep imprisoning and nobody tries to put an end to it," he said.

“This is a very highly emotional time for all of us Palestinians everywhere. There is a death sentence issued by the Zionist occupiers of our land, for all of us,” he added.

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has recorded over 11,000 Israeli settlers' attacks on Palestinians and their property since 2004.
