A British woman who murdered a convicted paedophile while he was on bail has been cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter.
Sarah Sands, 32, stabbed her 77 year old neighbour, Michael Pleasted while he was on bail for sexually abusing three young boys last year.
Reports suggest Sands had been so disturbed after finding out of his paedophilia that she had armed herself with a weapon and stabbed him in his London flat eight times.
Following the “determined and sustained attack”, Pleasted reportedly crawled from the scene of the incident in his living room and collapsed in the hallway where he bled to death.
Sands then handed herself in to the police while stating: “Who houses a paedophile on an estate, like, seriously? He was, like, asking for trouble.”
Sands said she had initially perceived her neighbour as a nice old man and said: “He’s harmless now, ain’t he?”

Pleassted was on bail awaiting trial accused of sexual assault on children under the age of 13 when the attack took place. Police investigations identified a string of convictions attached to the 77 year old which suggested he had sexually assaulted young boys between 1970 and 1991.
Pleasted, who was also known as Robin Moult boasted a total of 24 previous convictions for sexual offences prior to molesting the children last year. The Old Bailey heard how he had already served sentences of between nine months and six years which included indecent assault of young males.
Sands allegedly sobbed in court as she denied any intention to harm Pleasted when she entered his home armed with a knife. She told the court she only wanted to force him into confessing his crimes to protect the children and prevent them from having to go to court.
Sands said: “I was frightened. It was not how it was meant to go. He was meant to listen to me.”
The sentencing was finalised after three days of deliberation by the jury who identified the reason for the manslaughter as loss of control.
