On the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan, millions of Iranian people have marched to mark the International Quds Day.
The demonstrators took to the streets of the capital Tehran and major Iranian cities of Isfahan, Yazd, Shiraz, Kerman as well as other towns and cities in a show of solidarity with Palestinian people. They chanted slogans against Israel and its main ally the United States and called for the liberation of all occupied lands. International Quds day is observed annually across the globe and is acknowledged as a symbol for all oppressed people and nations. The day was announced by the late founder of Iran’s Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini to ensure that the Palestinian cause would never be forgotten.
