New meetings held in Vienna over remaining issues on Iran deal

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries are spending the last days of nuclear talks that are expected to culminate in a much-awaited deal over the Iranian nuclear energy program.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini. This follows a deputy ministerial meeting between Iranian and US teams to iron out the last remaining differences over the text of the deal. To fill several key brackets in the main text the ministers are required to make a number of political decisions. Some disputes over the appendices of the deal concerning the sanctions and the simultaneity of actions also remain to be resolved. The top diplomats of Iran and the US will meet once there is progress in the meetings of their deputies. Also, other P5+1 foreign ministers who left Vienna yesterday are expected back tonight.
