Two separate shootings in the US states of Chicago and Colorado have left three people dead, according to police officials.

The first incident occurred on Sunday in North Austin, Chicago where two men were shot while sitting in a moving car.

The victims were passing an intersection when a gunman opened fire at them from another car.

One of the victims was shot in the head and the other one was hit multiple times, sustaining fatal injuries.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the Stroger Hospital. Their identities are yet to be released.

Police was still investigating the matter and no suspects were taken into custody.

Meanwhile, in another Sunday shooting in the state of Colorado, a man was shot and killed.

According to local sheriff’s office, the shooting took place between Fort Collins and Loveland, where the victim was found by locals.

Attempts by medical teams to revive the man failed and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is said to be related to a string of linked shootings in Colorado, where police have been able to find a pattern and connect at least 3 recent shootings.
