A top American investigative journalist, who recently made revelations about the killing of Osama bin Laden, has told Press TV that the 2011 raid on the former al-Qaeda leader was used as propaganda and political game in Washington. Seymour Hersh said he is under intense pressure after revealing that Washington lied about the raid on bin Laden’s compound in Pakistan’s Abbottabad.
Hersh said his article in the London Review of Books was based on testimonies by retired senior Pakistani intelligence officials. According to the article, bin Laden was secretly kept as a prisoner by the Pakistanis and that they helped the U-S stage the raid on his compound. It said a Pakistani intelligence official sold the information on bin Laden’s whereabouts for 25 million dollars.
