Southern Chile is bracing for a possible third volcanic eruption after the Calbuco volcano burst into life.
Calbuco had its first eruption in over four decades on Wednesday and another on Thursday. But experts and officials have warned that more explosions could follow. Authorities have declared a state of emergency and evacuated a 21-kilometer radius around the volcano near the cities of Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt. The first two blasts sent ash and lava several kilometers high into the sky. Chile has around 500 volcanoes that are potentially active.
