The latest survey on May’s general election forecasts that Britain is on course for political deadlock.
It says that both Labour and the Conservatives will get an almost identical number of votes, and at a predicted 31% of votes each, both parties will fall short of a majority,
The figures add fuel to the fire that another coalition government is around the corner, and that ultimately both parties will need backroom deals to claim Number 10.

While it looks increasingly likely that Britain will be home to its second coalition government, what the make-up of that coalition will be is still unclear.
This latest poll has relatively good news for the Liberal Democrats who, according to the latest figures, have moved ahead of UKIP to reclaim their traditional position of third place.

So could there be another Liberal Democrat-Tory coalition? Or will the Lib Dems move over to their more expected allies, Labour? The Scottish National Party has appealed to Labout to join forces to “lock out” the Tories. So that is also a potential option, that would take British politics a step to the left again. Or a UKIP-Tory coalition that will take it firmly to the right.
It is all to play for. What is clear is that come election night things will go down to the wire.
