NATO seeking to legitimize its existence: Analyst
Press TV has conducted an interview with Eric Draitser, founder of stopimperialism.com, to discuss Russia’s reaction to the deployment of NATO missile systems in Romania.
Draitser said the deployment of missile systems in Romania is part of NATO’s strategy to legitimize its existence, the need for which has been thrown into question during recent years.
The analyst added that the security structure established in Europe since the early 90s is being questioned by various European countries, who have also questioned the role of the United States in this regard. He said the US, despite claiming to be a guarantor of peace, is in fact a belligerent actor furthering its own geopolitical agenda.
Draitser concluded that Ukraine is only one of the many theaters of a larger deteriorating conflict involving the United States, NATO, and Russia.
