Bahraini opposition group warns against plight of inmates in Jaw prsion

Bahrain’s main opposition group al-Wefaq has raised the alarm over the plight of more than 13-hundred inmates being held in the Persian Gulf country’s notorious Jaw prison.
The opposition group has reported that the prisoners are beaten by guards, and banned from family visits and even phone-calls. Al-Wefaq has called on the International Red Cross to take action to protect the inmates. Meanwhile, the Women Affairs Department of the opposition party has called for immediate international action to end the Bahraini regime's violence against female protesters. Nearly 50 women have been arrested and 16 others injured in attacks by regime forces so far this year.
