Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has clocked the fastest time in the practice sessions, ahead of the season opening Grand Prix in Melbourne on Friday, with his British team mate Lewis Hamilton just a fraction behind.
The practice sessions at Albert Park witnessed Nico Rosberg setting the quickest time of the day, just a tenth of a second ahead of team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
Meanwhile Sebastian Fettel who was making his first official appearance for Ferrari since leaving Red Bull, finished in 3rd, but well behind the pace of the Mercedes DUO.
Fettel's team-mate Kimi Raikkonen ended the practice in 4th, with Valtteri Bottas 5th for Williams, and Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat back in 6th. Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo, who is considered the favorite at the season opening Grand Prix, had to sit-out the 2nd session due to an Engine Replacement.
