The Israeli regime has decided to continue withholding tax revenues Tel Aviv collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given orders to freeze 100 million Dollars as a response to Palestinian insistence on joining the International Criminal Court.

So regardless of any form of sanctions Israel has imposed and might even impose in the future, the Palestine Authority revealed that its decision to join the International Criminal Court (ICC) was irreversible, accusing the Israeli regime of ignoring all international laws and conventions. Observers however said the Palestinian authority should also reconsider its relation with Israel and reconsider the so-called Protocol on Economic Relations, better known as Paris Protocol.

The Palestinian Authority is in a deep financial crisis. The Palestinians fear that the delay would be seriously affecting their lives, given the fact that more than 70 percent of them are public sector employees.

Israel’s persistence to withhold Palestinian tax revenues of December and now January, means the Palestinian Authority’s budget will be facing extra deficit, and it would not be able to pay its civil servants' salaries for the second consecutive month.
