Press TV has conducted an interview with Mark Weber, the director of the Institute for Historical Review, to discuss the liberation of the strategic town of Kobani in Syria from Takfiri ISIL militants and the United States’ approach toward crisis in the country.

Weber believes that the efforts of the Western countries and the Israeli regime in recent years to overthrow the government of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad were tremendously miscalculated.

He says countries such as the US and Turkey have come to understand how serious the ISIL threat is and have stepped back from their previous statements demanding the ouster of Assad.
