Two huge explosions have rocked Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, targeting Shia Houthi fighters, a report says.
The explosions took place close to al-Zahra Mosque in the capital’s Al Jarraf district on Friday, Yemen Press website reported, citing eyewitnesses.
Yemeni media have, meanwhile, reported tough clashes between Houthi fighters, aka Ansarullah, and tribal armed men in the Rada’ district in central Yemen.
Rada’ locals said the clashes had left a number of casualties, and resulted in the armed men’s taking control of the Khabza and Jabal ‘Alib areas in the district.
The district’s al-Manasseh area, which has been under the control of Ansarullah fighters, is also reportedly witnessing confrontation.
The political and security situation in the country has recently witnessed successive upheavals, including President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Prime Minister Khaled Bahah’s resignation following Shia fighters’ taking control of the presidential palace in the capital.
