US-South Korea alliance rift

This edition of Spotlight is about the rift between the US and South Korea over Trump's insistence that Seoul join the US aggression against Iran.

The guests of the program are Kenneth Hammond, a professor of East Asian and global history at New Mexico State University from New Mexico, and John Edmunds, an economist and author from Massachusetts. Hammond says the difference between the US and South Korea shows that the era of the American hegemony is over. Edmunds, however, does not address the topic directly. He says the Persian Gulf will no longer become what it used to be and recommends that all countries that are dependent on fossil fuels turn to solar energy to meet their needs.
