Iran terror-linked arrests

Iranian intelligence agencies have announced a new wave of arrests linked to the terror attacks the country witnessed earlier this month. The General Intelligence Department of Golestan Province says it arrested 40 individuals, many of them notorious thugs with past records of disturbing public order and engaging in altercations with citizens. They were identified and arrested through public reports and intelligence operations. The department also seized a cache of weapons including rifles, handguns, and cold weapons. In a separate announcement, authorities in Yazd province stated they have arrested over 150 riot leaders and key elements affiliated with terror groups and Israeli-linked media outlets. These arrests follow the earlier detention of a ringleader groomed for years by US and Israeli operatives. According to the country's security officials, more than three-thousand people have been arrested nationwide in connection with the recent terror acts.

US deadly protest crackdown

In the United States, Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer says what’s happening in Minnesota is appalling after the second fatal shooting of a citizen in Minneapolis by the ICE agents. In a social media post, Schumer threatened to withhold support for legislation to prevent a government shutdown if it includes funding for the Department of Homeland Security, which oversees ICE. Minnesota’s governor has also vowed that the state’s justice system will lead the investigation into the death of Alex Pretti, echoing calls for a local inquiry rather than a federal one. Rights advocates argue that federal investigations lack independence. Meanwhile, Trump administration officials, including Vice President JD Vance, assert that federal agents have "absolute immunity" for actions taken on duty. This latest shooting comes just weeks after another unarmed citizen named Renee Good was killed by federal agents in the same city.
