Gaza ceasefire
Despite a ceasefire deal, Israeli airstrikes have killed some 110 Palestinians in Gaza, including nearly 50 children, in less than 24 hours. More than 250 others were also wounded. In Deir el-Balah, two people were killed when a home was bombed. Ten more died in a strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp. Casualties were also reported in Gaza City’s al-Shati camp. One Palestinian was also killed in an Israeli attack on northern Gaza. The new wave of Israeli attacks came after the death of an Israeli soldier in Rafah. Prime Minister Netanyahu blamed Hamas and ordered intensified strikes. However, Israel later said it has resumed enforcing ceasefire. The US-Israeli genocidal war which began in October 2023 has so far claimed over 68,600 lives in Gaza.
Israel Gaza violations
Resistance groups and regional nations are strongly condemning Israel's overt breaches of the Gaza ceasefire. Hamas said the world must recognize that the killing of women and children will not be tolerated and the resistance factions will not let the enemy use this aggression to create new realities on the ground. The group called on the mediators and guarantors to pressure the Israeli regime to stop its attacks. The Islamic Jihad movement also condemned Israel's violations, calling them a systematic campaign to destroy civilian lives and a deliberate strategy under false pretexts. Meanwhile, Turkey's Foreign Ministry joined in condemning the Israeli violations, warning that civilian casualties undermine the prospects for lasting peace.
Anti-Trump protest
Trump also announced that a trade deal is reached with South Korea. He earlier described the agreement as an incredible victory. In the meeting between the two heads of state, Lee Jae Myung presented Trump with a replica of a gold crown. But Trump’s visit to the South Korean city was met with a protest. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Gyeongju National Museum, where Trump and Lee sat down. Several days ago, there was a similar anti-Trump rally in Kuala Lumpur while the US president was in the Malaysian capital for an ASEAN summit.
