Israel violations against Palestinians

Israeli forces have carried out fresh attacks in Gaza, killing more Palestinians despite a ceasefire in the besieged territory. At least two Palestinians lost their lives and several were injured in a drone attack targeting eastern parts of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. According to the Health Ministry, eight more bodies were recovered during search operations across Gaza and more than a dozen injured citizens were received at hospitals during the past two days. Israeli drones have also struck the areas near the camps of displaced people close to the Shujayea junction in Gaza City. The new fatalities have increased the death toll in Gaza to over 68,500 with nearly 170,400 others injured.

'Provocative' military drill

Tensions rising in the Caribbean region as Venezuela blasts Trinidad and Tobago over conducting joint military drills with the United States. The reaction came after a US warship docked at Trinidad and Tobago coasts, close to the Venezuelan territorial waters for a four-day military exercise. The administration of Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro has warned that the military provocation by Trinidad is aimed at provoking a war in the region. Venezuela’s Executive Vice President also accused Trinidad of acting as a “military colony” for the US to conduct war against entire South America. The Trump administration has accused Maduro of leading drug cartels. That has served as a pretext for multiple attacks against Venezuelan boats that Washington alleges are involved in drug trafficking. Caracas says the aggression's aims to destabilize and overthrow the government of Nicolas Maduro.

Trump Asia tour

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Japan as the latest leg of his five-day Asia tour which is hoped to lead to a truce in the trade war with China. Trump kicked off the trip in Malaysia, announcing trade deals with four Southeast Asian nations. In Tokyo, key talks are set for Tuesday with Japan’s new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, the country’s first female leader. She’s pledged to strengthen the US-Japan alliance and boost defense spending. Meanwhile, a knife-wielding man was arrested near the U-S embassy and an anti-Trump protest is planned in downtown Shinjuku. Japan has committed 550 billion dollars in investment in exchange for relief from US import tariffs. The country also hosts the largest concentration of US military forces abroad. Trump is set to meet with Chinese President Xi in South Korea on Thursday, when they will discuss a trade deal. The two sides reached a framework agreement in Malaysia.
