Gaza ceasefire agreement

Israel has launched fresh attacks across the Gaza Strip, violating a ceasefire agreement with the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas. Israeli tanks targeted residential buildings in Gaza City. In a separate incident, a drone strike hit the central area of Deir al-Balah. Since the ceasefire took effect, scores have been killed in Israeli attacks. Meanwhile, efforts continue to recover the bodies of Gazans, buried under destroyed buildings, two weeks into the ceasefire. In Gaza City’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, the remains of over 100 Palestinians have been recovered from a mass grave. According to reports, they were killed in an Israeli strike in November 2023 and were buried temporarily in a large trench because IOF forces prevented families from conducting burials. The death toll in Gaza now stands at nearly 68,300 since the beginning of the genocide in 2023.

Israel-Lebanon aggression

Several Israeli drone airstrikes on southern and eastern Lebanon have left three people dead and several others injured. The latest attack targeted a vehicle in a village in Nabatieh district, leaving one person dead. An earlier strike on the town of Toul left two people dead. The Israeli regime claims one of the victims was a senior Hezbollah commander. Two Lebanese people were also injured in the attack. Israeli drones also bombed the town of Al-Khiam. The aggression marked the latest Israeli violation of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon that came into force in November 2024. Iran’s foreign ministry has condemned the strikes as terrorist crimes, urging the international community and the UN Security Council to act against Israel’s “lawlessness and crimes”.

Russia-Ukraine war

The war between Russia and Ukraine shows no sign of easing, as Moscow claims its forces have captured several settlements across different areas of the Donetsk region. These areas include settlements that are located along the shifting front lines and have been largely destroyed due to months of heavy fighting. Russia has also launched another deadly strike on southern Ukraine, killing two people and wounding dozens in the city of Kherson. The attack caused widespread destruction, damaging homes, apartment blocks, and key infrastructure. On the other side, Ukrainian forces have carried out strikes inside Russia, hitting the Ryazan oil refinery that serves as a key facility for the Russian military. Ukrainian drones also hit an ammunition depot in the Belgorod region.
