No to ‘excessive demands’

Iran’s President has condemned the move by the European troika to re-impose UN sanctions against Tehran, stressing that these bans will never stop the country’s development. Pezeshkian was referring to the UN Security Council vote against lifting sanctions on Iran over its nuclear activities. He said Iran has never and will never give in to bullying and excessive demands since it has the power to bring about change. Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi warned that if the UN sanctions are re-imposed, the recent agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency will be terminated. Russian Foreign Ministry also denounced the UN Security Council’s Friday vote against Iran, saying that the move had nothing to do with diplomacy. He said it only served to further inflame tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.

US-Israeli genocide in Gaza

Dozens more Palestinians are killed in fresh Israeli strikes across Gaza as the Israeli military pushes ahead with its genocidal campaign in the besieged territory. More than 60 civilians have been killed in relentless Israeli bombardments across Gaza since Saturday dawn. Two children were killed after the regime attacked a school turned shelter in Gaza city. A woman was killed and many others wounded following an Israeli drone strike on the city’s Sabra neighborhood. The barely functioning hospitals in Gaza say they are overwhelmed by the mass influx of dead and wounded due to the blockade of basic medical aid. Meanwhile, a 9-year-old child died from severe malnutrition, raising the number of kids starving to death in recent weeks to 147. Over 65,200 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since October 2023.

Targeting Gaza health workers

The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has condemned Israeli attacks on medical facilities, health workers and their families in the Gaza Strip. Hamas called the attacks part of the regime's policy of genocide and a terrorist message directed at doctors to force them to leave Gaza City. Five family members of al-Shifa Hospital director, Doctor Mohammed Abu Salmiya, were recently killed in Gaza's largest city. Israel has killed more than 1,700 medical personnel and abducted nearly 400 others since October 2023. Hamas called the killings and abductions a full-fledged war crime and a crime against humanity committed amid international silence. The movement renewed calls on the international community to take urgent action to end the Israeli military attacks and starvation policy in Gaza. It also urged prosecution of Israeli officials at international tribunals.
