London protest condemns Israeli genocidal actions in Gaza

The chants are loud and the message is simple beyond these gates, at the Israeli regime's Embassy in London; to the demonstrators here, it represents a regime they consider the last of the settler colonial, expansionist colonies.

It's not a real country. It's not a country that operates like normal, civilized, nation state. It is a colonial outpost for America and formerly for the British Empire to enact its will, and it does that at the expense and at the suffering of free peoples all across the region.

Salem Nusseibeh, Palestinian-British Activist

The gathering comes after a recent threat by Israeli regime officials to turn Gaza City, home to 1 million Palestinians, into rubble. With a full-blown famine now officially declared by UN backed body. Campaigners say the world cannot stay silent.

Israel's agenda the whole time has been to wipe out as many Palestinians as possible. And famine makes it sound like it's not man made, when it's (an) entirely man made famine; entirely deliberate, It could end be ended tomorrow, if Israel had the heart, but they're doing it deliberately.

You know, it's not a natural disaster, it's a genocide.

Earlier this week, the UK Government summoned Israeli ambassador Tzipi Hotovely, who has spent the last 22 months justifying Israel's genocidal war on Gaza, to object to Israel's planned settlement expansion in the West Bank.

To the protestors, the move is meaningless.

Because they are still supplying parts for the F-35s that are killing people.

They are not doing anything really about the famine at all.

Sam Weinstein, International Jewish Anti-Zionist Movement

It's shocking. It's shocking that we treat Israel like a ordinary ally of the UK. That's not what they are.

This is a rogue state that is conducting a genocide that has broken through every single international norm, the international post war order that we put in place because we said that this would never happen again. This is what has been destroyed.

Zoe Gardner, Immigration & Asylum Policy Campaigner

They've come with pots and pans to beat and highlight Israel's use of starvation as a weapon of war against Palestinians, but are warned by police not to do so or risk arrest.

That ongoing support makes the UK Government, the protesters say, a participant in genocide.

This, they argue, is as much about the British government's complicity as it is about Tel Aviv's actions.

Nearly two years of demonstrations have pretty much fallen on deaf ears in the halls of power in Britain, but the demonstrators say they're in for the long haul.
