'Fingers on trigger': Yemen says ready to act if Israel resumes Gaza, Lebanon wars

Yemen's Ansarullah leader Abdul-malik al-Houthi

Yemen is prepared to immediately resume anti-Israel operations if the regime violates the ceasefire agreements in Gaza and Lebanon and decides to escalate its atrocities, according to Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

Houthi made the remarks in a speech delivered on the anniversary of the 2015 departure of US marines from the capital Sana'a, referring to speculations that Israel may resume the war on Gaza as it is stalling in implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal.

He said the Israeli enemy must understand that no matter how much it relies on the Americans, it will not achieve its goals if it decides to escalate.

"Our fingers are on the trigger, and we are ready to escalate immediately against the Israeli enemy if it resumes aggression on Gaza," he said.

"If the enemy resumes escalation, it will return to the conditions and dangers of war in security, military, and economic terms, regardless of American support."

The Yemeni leader also said they will be present in any stage of escalation or comprehensive aggression against Lebanon and will stand fully on the military and other levels with the Lebanese people and the resistance.

He noted that the Israeli aim in delaying its withdrawal from Lebanon was to continue the aggression to destroy what remained in Lebanese villages, homes, and agricultural lands.

"We stand with our brothers in Hezbollah and the Lebanese people and are ready for any phase of escalation or comprehensive aggression on Lebanon," he added.

"We remain firm in our position no matter the challenges."

‘Gazans to thwart Trump’s plan’

Houthi also touched on the US-Israeli project to displace Gazans, which has received worldwide condemnations.

He said the American plan was a blatant and scandalous aggression, a disgrace in every sense of the word, and that Gazans will defeat this attempt at occupation of their lands.

“Will Trump buy the Gaza Strip from its people, who have stood firm and held onto their rights for 15 months amid an unparalleled genocide and aggression?”

“Do you, foolish and ignorant, think that after all their unmatched resilience and immense sacrifice, the honorable people of Gaza will sell you their homeland?”

Houthi said the conditions are ripe for Arabs and Muslims to unite in the face of the Gaza displacement plot.

It is in no-one's interest to accept the US stance on the displacement of the Palestinian people, Houthi said.

“The American position represents an opportunity for awareness that all other options proposed by Arab regimes and leaders are unviable.”

Houthi said the United States seeks to establish a narrative in the Arab world that considers Israel a friend and Iran an enemy.

“When some adopt the Israeli and American narrative that Iran is the enemy, this is pure ignorance, foolishness, and misguidance.”

Houthi said Muslims must unite against the schemes of the United States and Israel, and those who believe they will benefit from siding with Washington are “deluded.”
