Lebanon ceasefire
The German Foreign Minister says ceasefire in Lebanon is at a critical moment and within reach due to direct mediation. Baerbock also called on Israel to end the war in Gaza. The Israeli cabinet will be discussing a proposed ceasefire in its war on Lebanon. Washington and Paris have tried to broker a ceasefire proposing a draft agreement. According to media reports, the agreement includes a 60-day transition period. During that time, Israeli forces will withdraw and the Lebanese army will redeploy near the border and Hezbollah will move its heavy weapons to the north of the Litani River. The International community has pushed for a halt in Israel’s aggression against Lebanon which escalated into a full-scale war in late September.
