US-Israel Gazaa genocide

More Palestinians are falling victim to the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza as the occupation forces continue to pound the blockaded territory with air and artillery strikes. In a latest strike, at least five Palestinians were killed in Israeli bombing of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. In the northern strip, Israeli shelling left at least one Palestinian dead and several others injured. Israeli artillery also targeted other areas in Gaza, including the Nuseirat and al-Bureij refugee camps. The Israeli aggression which began last October has so far claimed the lives of nearly 40,000 Palestinians and injured more than 91,000 others. The war has also displaced nearly two million Palestinians in the coastal territory.

Israel West Bank raids

There is no end in sight to violent Israeli raids against Palestinians. Nine more Palestinians have been killed by the regime forces in separate raids on the occupied West Bank cities of Tubas and Jenin. The Palestinian Red crescent society said four people were killed and seven others injured in Tubas. Israeli forces resorted to live bullets at people in the vicinity of a hospital and residential buildings. Three of those killed were teenagers. A 37-year-old man succumbed to head injuries he sustained during the incursion. Five people have been killed in Jenin where the Israeli raid is still ongoing. Nearly 600 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank since October 7, the day when the regime launched its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Hiroshima A-bomb anniv.

August 6 marks the 79th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of the Japanese city of Hiroshima, with people and leaders commemorating the tragic event. About 50,000 participants, including ambassadors from 109 countries attended the ceremony at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. The US nuclear attack in 1945 killed thousands of people instantly and about 140,000 by the end of the year. Days later, a second US nuclear bomb hit Nagasaki in southwest Japan, killing around 74,000 people. The Hiroshima bombing anniversary comes as the US-Israeli genocide is unfolding in the besieged Gaza Strip. Many Japanese gathered in Hiroshima to denounce the massacre of Palestinians. Waving Palestinian flags and placards, they called for a halt to Washington’s all-out support for Tel Aviv in its war on the Palestinian territory. The US is the only country to have used weapons of mass destruction during war.
