Iran’s president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has vowed to seriously pursue efforts to uplift Iran-Qatar ties, stressing the need for closer cooperation to boost regional stability.

Speaking in a phone conversation with Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Pezeshkian emphasized his government's determination to develop relations with Qatar.

"The cooperation between Iran and Qatar has numerous mutual benefits, and I will seriously pursue the path of enhancing relations."

Pezeshkian, referring to the shared positions of the two countries on regional challenges, added, "We both believe that negotiation and responsibility are the only successful methods for expanding cooperation to strengthen regional stability and progress."

The Iranian official also appreciated the “wise and principled” stance of the Qatari government in supporting the rights of the oppressed Palestinian people.

The Qatari Emir congratulated Pezeshkian on his electoral victory and wished him success. He expressed hope that bonds of friendship between the two governments would further strengthen during Pezeshkian’s tenure.

"The relations between Iran and Qatar are historical, strong, and always moving forward. Through our cooperation, we can continue and accelerate progress in our bilateral cooperation.

Sheikh Tamim hailed Pezeshkian’s stance on regional and global issues, saying these views carry a message of love and peace for all the countries in the region.

“I hope that by deepening our cooperation, we can take effective steps towards resolving regional and global issues, especially in helping the oppressed people of Palestine."

Pezeshkian also held separate phone conversations with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, discussing the deepening of ties between Iran and the two governments.
