Israel-US genocide

It is day 86 of Israel’s onslaught on the Gaza strip. The Palestinian death toll is approaching 22,000 as the regime continues its relentless bombing of civilians. The Palestinian health ministry says 150 have been killed in the past 24 hours in the besieged strip. Dozens of the fatalities are from the bombing of al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip and airstrikes on the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City. Israeli artillery shelling targeted a school housing displaced people in Khan Younis, injuring several people. Dozens are also missing under the rubble of the buildings that were bombed. A new report says 70 percent of the homes in the besieged Palestinian territory have been destroyed. Experts say Gaza is now unrecognizable and its bombing is the most destructive in modern history.

Red Sea tensions

Yemen’s Armed Forces have vowed that the US will pay the price for its deadly attack on Yemeni boats in the Red Sea. The spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces said US movements in the Red Sea cannot prevent Yemen from carrying out its religious, moral, and humanitarian duty in support of Palestinians. Yahya Saree also called on other countries to avoid involvement in what he called the dangerous US project, warning of negative repercussions for everyone. At least 10 Yemenis were killed in a US attack on three Yemeni boats in the Red Sea. The US says it helicopters shot at the vessels trying to attack Singapore-flagged vessel Maersk Hangzhou. Saree said the ship was heading to Israeli ports and was successfully targeted with appropriate naval missiles.

Resistance front strength

The Leader of Iran’s Islamic Revolution says the main service rendered by martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani was to revive the resistance front in the region. In a meeting with general Soleimani’s family members, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei added that the late commander made the utmost effort to revitalize the resistance front, and did so with sincerity, prudence and wisdom. The Leader said general Soleimani’s integrity is the reason why he is known widely. Ayatollah Khamenei added that Gaza has been able to withstand almost three months of Israeli onslaught due the presence of the resistance front. The Leader also appreciated efforts by the current commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and General Soleimani’s successor, Brigadier General Ismail Qa’ani. January 3 marks the anniversary of General Soleimani’s assassination in a US drone strike in Iraq.
