Iran’s Persepolis have suffered a 1-0 loss against Al-Duhail of Qatar in their first leg of the AFC Champions League quarterfinals in Doha.
The Qatari side were aiming to add to their 8-match winning streak in the tournament when they took on Persepolis on Tuesday.
Al-Duhail got on the score sheet when Almoez Ali headed home a cross from Edmilson Junior just 15 minutes into the match.
There were a few chances in the 2nd half, but both sides could not change the result. With the 1-nil win, Al-Duhail bring a slim lead into the return leg, which takes places on the 17th of September.
