Iran warning

Iran’s top security official says the US has suffered defeat after defeat against Iran and that’s why Washington has turned to an economic war against the country. In an exclusive interview with Press TV, Major General Mohsen Rezaei said the US has failed even to end the war. The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council said an end is in the hands of Iran and they will not stop their resistance until they get what is rightfully theirs. Rezaei added that the US is the root of the problem concerning the Strait of Hormuz. The general said Iran seeks management of the strait to ensure regional security, especially in the Persian Gulf. Rezaei also warned that American assets, including key data and AI centers, will be struck if the US wages another act of aggression against Iran.

US Iran aggression toll

Despite earlier denials, the US War Department has admitted that the number of troops who have died in the aggression against Iran is higher than previously reported. According to The Washington Post, the Pentagon in its latest report has raised the official death toll of US troops linked to military aggression against Iran to 21, acknowledging that two additional deaths had not previously been included in its figures. The newly included deaths are an army major who died in Kuwait on March 6, and an unidentified Navy service member who died by suicide in September. The updated figures also showed that 865 US service members have also been wounded during the aggression against Iran. Separately, the US military confirmed the death of another soldier in Iraq, claiming that he lost his life in a training accident unrelated to the aggression against Iran. The update came after The Washington Post reported last month that the number of casualties from the war was greater than what the Pentagon has disclosed publicly. At the time, US War Secretary Pete Hegseth called that report “a complete lie.”

Trump-Zelensky verbal clash

US President Donald Trump says it's time for Ukraine to get a new president after he announced a deal with Russia on diesel supplies. Trump said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could have ended the war with Russia many times but chose not to. He criticized Zelensky for ignoring warnings against striking Russian refining facilities, saying Kiev had been told not to hit the refineries because of its fallout on a global scale. Trump’s comment comes as the Ukrainian president said the oil agreement looks like a "birthday present" for the Russian president. Trump had said on Friday that the deal with Russia over diesel supplies will lower fuel prices. He added that Vladimir Putin agreed to sell more than 300,000 tons of diesel to the US and global markets. Analysts have cast doubt on whether the agreement will bring down energy costs worldwide.
