Slamming E3’s anti-Iran move
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman says the three European countries’ decision to activate the snapback mechanism shows they failed to act as mature and independent negotiators. Esmaeil Baqaei stated that the E3’s move was driven more by stubbornness and a desire to meet US demands than by rational judgment or legal analysis. He added that this action ignored their own interests, considerations, and credibility as parties to the 2015 nuclear deal. The spokesman also said that statements about re-imposing UN sanctions on Iran lack legal validity and sound reasoning. He noted that Iran’s position on this issue is supported by China and Russia as permanent Security Council members. Baqaei emphasized that Tehran currently has no plans for negotiations with the European side.
Israel’s Gaza massacre
Another day of deadly Israeli airstrikes in Gaza despite claims by US President Donald Trump that Israel has halted its hostilities against Gazans as part of the peace deal proposed by Washington. Over a dozen Palestinian have been killed in the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territory since dawn on Monday. The regime’s airstrikes targeted several residential buildings in Gaza City over night, including in the Tal al-Hawa and the Shati refugee camps. That’s after Israeli attacks killed nearly 70 civilians in the coastal strip on Sunday. They included at least two aid seekers. Since October 2023, the Israeli genocide has killed over 67,000 Palestinians in Gaza, and injured nearly 170,000 others.
Russia-Ukraine war
Moscow says that Russian forces have launched a massive overnight strike targeting Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and energy infrastructure. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the raid involved combat drones and long-range precision weapons, including hypersonic ballistic missiles. Russian troops also struck railcars used for transporting military equipment to combat zones in the Donbas region, along with other military depots and equipment. The attacks resulted in several casualties and injuries among the Ukrainian forces. The ministry said Russian forces have also taken control of a settlement in the Donetsk region. Meanwhile, Kiev officials say they have shot down nearly 500 aerial targets, including drones and cruise missiles. Ukrainian attacks on Russia’s Belgorod region left some 40,000 people without power and three people injured.
