Gaza resists occupation

Israel has intensified its deadly strikes across the Gaza Strip while the regime’s forces push deeper into Gaza City to take control of it. Israeli airstrikes continue to wreak havoc across multiple neighborhoods in the northern city, including al-Sabra, al-Zeitoun, and Abu Iskandar. At least five people, including children, were killed and many trapped under the rubble after an Israeli shelling of a house in the central Nuseirat camp. Also, in an airstrike on the city of Deir al-Balah, one Palestinian was killed and several others wounded. To the south, a young boy succumbed to his injuries after the regime’s forces bombed his family's tent in the al-Mawasi area. Meanwhile, a Palestinian woman lost her life in a separate bombardment north of Khan Yunis. Since the onset of the US-Israeli genocidal war in October 2023, over 63,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 159,500 others injured.

US denying visas to Palestinians

The US administration’s refusal to grant visas to a Palestinian delegation ahead of the UN General Assembly has sparked a strong backlash from both UN and Palestinian officials. Dujarric emphasized that the UN expects all diplomats and delegates entitled to attend the General Assembly to be able to travel freely. Palestine’s UN envoy, Riyad Mansour, also reacted to the move, saying his delegation would closely review it and respond accordingly. The Palestinian Authority also condemned the decision as a clear violation of international law. It added that such a move breaches the UN Headquarters Agreement as the State of Palestine holds observer status at the United Nations. The US says it’s denying visas for members of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Authority. That includes President Mahmoud Abbas, who was supposed to deliver an address to the general assembly in New York next month.

Venezuela warns US

Venezuela has warned the US that any form of military aggression will be met with unwavering resistance. The Venezuelan vice president said the entire country is "deployed". Delcy Rodriguez said "fascist forces" are advancing US interests in a bid to exploit Venezuela’s rich resources. The US has deployed warships and troops off Venezuela’s coast, claiming that this is part of a broader effort to combat drug trafficking in the region. In response, Venezuela has conducted large-scale military drills in Caracas, showcasing its readiness to defend against potential threats. During the exercises, President Nicolas Maduro declared that there is no possibility of US troops successfully invading Venezuela. Officials in Caracas have repeatedly condemned Washington’s actions, framing them as part of a long-standing campaign to destabilize the country.
