Iran will respond ‘decisively’ to any enemy miscalculation: IRGC commander
The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Ground Force has warned that any act of aggression by the enemy will be met with a strong response by Iran's armed forces.
Brigadier General Mohammad Karami made the remarks on Thursday during a visit to the Persian Gulf islands in southern Iran.
“Backed by divine willpower and the support of the steadfast, vigilant, and present-on-the-scene nation, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond decisively to any miscalculation by the enemy,” he said.
The US and Israel launched their illegal war of aggression against Iran on February 28 by assassinating Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders.
Forty days later, on April 8, the enemies were forced to accept a ceasefire amid Iran’s resistance, successful retaliatory operations, and a powerful grip on the Strait of Hormuz.
In July, the US conducted waves of deadly air raids on Iran and imposed a naval blockade of the country in violation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamic Republic, signed on June 17, to end the war.
In response, the Iranian armed forces launched devastating strikes against strategic American targets across West Asia and declared the Strait of Hormuz closed to all traffic.
US President Donald Trump, who has failed to achieve any of his stated war aims, has repeatedly threatened to deploy ground forces to seize Kharg Island, Iran's main oil export hub.
Iranian officials and commanders have expressed the full readiness of the armed forces across all national territory, including the strategic island in the Persian Gulf, to counter any attack and inflict heavy casualties on the American troops.
