Gaza health warning
Doctors are warning of outbreaks of polio, measles and cholera in Gaza amid the persisting Israeli blockade as the regime continues to pound the Palestinian territory. The Palestinian Health Ministry says 600,000 children face paralysis after losing a fourth round of their polio vaccines scheduled for this week. That’s due to Israel blocking entry of medicine into Gaza. This is feared to trigger a resurgence of polio after its virus was detected in Gaza in July for the first time in decades. The warning on the spread of dangerous infectious diseases follows another warning by the Red Cross. It has described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as hell on earth, warning its field hospital has only two weeks of supplies left.
US justice 'charade'
A US immigration judge has cleared the way for the deportation of Columbia University pro-Palestine activist Mahmoud Khalil, who has been in jail for a month. The judge decided to approve the government’s accusation that Khalil poses a threat to US foreign policy interests. Judge Jamee Comans accepted a memo by Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio as sufficient evidence for the ruling. The judge rejected the defense teams’ argument that Rubio’s accusations required cross-examination. Khalil’s attorney later called the trial a charade to suppress dissent. Khalil was arrested for helping lead a pro-Palestine protest at Columbia University last year. The US government has revoked visas or changed the legal status of over 600 international students and recent graduates for supporting protests against the Israeli genocide in Gaza.
Yemen supports Palestine
The Yemeni Armed Forces has announced the execution of a precision military operation targeting two Israeli military sites in the occupied region of Jaffa as part of efforts to halt the Gaza genocide. The statement reaffirmed the Yemeni military’s unwavering commitment to supporting the oppressed Palestinian people, vowing that its backing would not waver or cease. It also emphasized that ongoing American aggression against Yemen would not deter the armed forces from fulfilling their religious, moral, and humanitarian duty to support Gaza until the aggression ends and the blockade is lifted. Earlier on Friday, the Yemeni army also announced operations in the Red Sea targeting American vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS Truman, in response to the US aggression against the Arab country.
