EU committed to two-state-solution, rejects US Gaza plan

After the United States helped to destroy most of Gaza's infrastructure, cause tens of thousands of deaths and create a horrific humanitarian crisis. It actually gets worse.

Rights groups say Trump's plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza and steal the enclave is a blueprint for ethnic cleansing.

Even Washington's closest allies in the West are rejecting it.

We took note of President Trump's comment. The European Union remains fully committed to the two-state solution, which we believe is the only path to a long term peace for both Israelis and Palestinians. And we have been clear Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state.

Trump is accused of flouting international law, trampling on Palestinian rights and destabilizing the region.

The willingness of the Israeli regime to entertain such a scheme only underscores its disregard for Palestinian sovereignty and human dignity, campaigners say.

Some EU legislators have been condemning Trump's policies.

The EU cannot just stand for our values when it is easy. It matters most when it comes at a cost, and standing up to Trump will come with a cost, but it is much less than the cost of letting this poison win.
