The streets of the capitals of Yemen and Jordan have once again been the scene of pro-Palestine demonstrations amid Israel’s genocidal campaign in the besieged Gaza Strip.

In Sana’a, thousands of Yemenis made a public display of support for the Palestinian cause on Friday in solidarity with the people of Gaza. They also condemned Washington for its unending support for the crimes of Israel.

Jordanian demonstrators also gathered in Amman for a similar event.

Melbourne in Australia, The Hague in the Netherlands and the city of Des Moines in Iowa, the United States, also witnessed similar demonstrations.

Pro-Palestine demonstrators came together outside the office of Australian lawmaker Ged Kearney in Melbourne on Thursday, urging the parliamentarian to stand up and take action for an end to the crimes of Israel. The demonstrators marched from Kearney’s office with a large Palestinian flag to the Preston City Hall.

Also on Friday, dozens of protesters gathered at The Hague’s central train station in a show of solidarity with the Palestinians. Footage of the demonstration showed people at the sit-in event waving Palestinian flags.

The air outside the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines was filled with “Free Palestine!” chants on Thursday. The pro-Palestine demonstrators called for an immediate end to the savagery of Israel in Gaza.

Since Israel launched its genocidal campaign in early October, global pro-Palestinian demonstrations involving millions of people from all walks of society have been held in major cities, including in London, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Toronto, and New York, among others.

Israel has killed more than 24,000 people, mainly women and children, in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
