UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria (OHCHR) has called for investigations into possible crimes by Israeli military in response to the Great March of Return protests in Gaza.
OHCHR says despite the civilian nature of the Gaza protests, Israeli snipers, deployed across the separation fence, shot more than 6,000 protesters. The majority of the Palestinians were deliberately shot. UN rights chief has lamented Tel Avivs immediate dismissal of the UN Human Rights Council report which says the Israeli military response to the protests could amount to crimes against humanity.
