The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has celebrated the 80th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Workers Party this weekend.
Head of state Kim Jong Un touted the economic progress of the country as high-level officials, including Russia's Dmitry Medvedev and China's Li Qiang took part in the festivities in Pyongyang.
The celebration demonstrates the strong alliances developing between the three states amid growing discord in the region over the US President Donald Trump's trade war.
