US-Israeli Gaza genocide

Israel’s indiscriminate airstrikes and artillery fire continue to pound various areas across the Gaza Strip, eleven months into the regime’s genocide in the besieged territory. The regime’s latest strikes in central Gaza targeted multiple homes in the Nuseirat refugee camp, killing at least six Palestinians and injuring nearly 30 others. In the north, three civilians died when their home was targeted by an Israeli strike. Israeli drone strikes near the al-Shati refugee camp in Gaza City resulted in multiple casualties. In the south, two Palestinians were killed, and three others injured in drone attacks south of Khan Yunis. Four others were killed and several injured when a house was targeted east of Khan Yunis. The regime’s attacks killed at least 34 people and injured 96 others in 24 hours. The Israeli genocide has killed over 41,100 Palestinians and injured more than 95,100 others, most of them women and children.
Palestinian economy devastated

The UN decries staggering economic devastation in the Gaza Strip as Israel continues to target civilian infrastructure. UN Trade and Development in a report said the scale of economic devastation and unprecedented decline in economic activity far surpasses the impact of all previous Israeli onslaughts on Gaza. UNCTAD says 96-percent of Gaza's agricultural assets have been decimated. Also, over 80-percent of businesses in Gaza are damaged or destroyed. The international body says the occupied West Bank has been undergoing a rapid and alarming economic decline as well. The report highlights factors such as settlement expansion, land confiscations, demolition of Palestinian structures and increased settler violence as the main causes of the decline. Israeli atrocities in the West Bank have led to significant job losses, severely affecting Palestinian livelihoods.

UN experts have condemned Israel’s escalating violence against journalists in the occupied West Bank, accusing the regime of trying to prevent reporting on its war crimes. The experts said the regime’s forces have repeatedly attacked and harassed journalists during their West Bank raids. They said Israeli forces fired live ammunition at reporters or their vehicles in three incidents in the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm this month. According to the experts, at least four journalists have been injured in the same period, despite wearing clearly marked press jackets. They also highlighted documented cases of ill-treatment and gender-based violence against journalists, particularly women, in Israeli custody. The experts said 29 journalists have been detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank since last October, some of whom are still in custody.
