Most world's nations supportive of JCPOA: Pundit

Most countries around the world have voiced support for the landmark 2015 Iran nuclear deal, saying it helps promote stability in the international arena, says a commentator.

Both China and Russia issued statements on Friday, reiterating their commitment to the implementation of the nuclear deal, known as the JCPOA, between Iran and the six world powers.

“Most of the world’s countries not only China, but also Russia and the European nations, are supportive of the JCPOA, and in spite of the United States pulling out of it, indicating that they are more interested and trying to create stability in the international arena than instability, that may not be the goals of President Trump," Bill Jones, analyst from the Executive Intelligence Review, told Press TV on Saturday.

Jones went on to say that “the support that has been shown for Iran after the US withdrawal is an indication of the world opinion, which is moving in the direction of greater cooperation rather than competition and conflict.”

Under the JCPOA, Iran agreed to limit parts of its peaceful nuclear program in exchange for the removal of all nuclear-related sanctions, however, US President Donald Trump in May ordered the reimposition of nuclear-related sanctions.
