Iraqis condemn UK ambassador’s call for armed groups to disarm, warn against foreign intervention

Iraqis are demanding a strong response after the British ambassador called for armed groups in Iraq to hand over their weapons and warned that Britain could intervene if they refuse.

Politicians and analysts have condemned the remarks as interference in Iraq’s internal affairs, saying London must respect the country’s sovereignty and independence. Wissam Al Bayati reports.
