The Iranian Army says it has launched a new wave of drone strikes targeting US military positions in Kuwait in response to renewed American attacks against the country.
The strikes were announced by Iran's Army and are separate from operations carried out by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), which also launched a series of crushing retaliatory attacks against US assets in several countries.
In a statement on Monday, the Army announced that the operations targeted locations housing US forces in Kuwait following “repeated unlawful American acts of aggression” on southern Iran.
It said the drone attacks also hit air defense and missile systems, shelters and logistical support facilities used by the “terrorist” American army in Kuwait.
The Iranian Army condemned repeated US attacks on Iranian military sites, infrastructure and civilians, saying such actions constituted a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter.
It stressed that Iran's Armed Forces remain determined with full force to defend the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence against any act of aggression by the enemies and will not hesitate for a moment in this goal.
The statement comes after American forces deliberately targeted Iran’s transportation infrastructure, fishing boats, cargo vessels, and meteorological facilities and buildings, committing some of the most heinous war crimes.
The US also openly interfered in Iran’s legitimate arrangements to secure the Strait of Hormuz, deliberately returning insecurity to this vital waterway and disrupting international commercial shipping.
At the same time, the terrorist US army’s use of territory and facilities belonging to countries on the southern coast of the Persian Gulf has effectively turned those nations into arenas for Washington's illegal and criminal war against the Iranian people.
In a statement on Sunday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the criminal military aggression carried out by the United States against Iran over the past 24 hours.
It warned that these assaults not only threaten international peace and security but have also destroyed months of efforts to reduce tensions and restore calm across West Asia.
