Exclusive: IRGC chief says Iran ready to confront any attacks
The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says Iran's advanced weapons and skilled armed forces enable the country to confront any attacks by enemies.
Major General Hossein Salami made the remarks in an interview with Press TV on the sidelines of the IRGC Ground Force's drills in Iran's south.
"Recently in operations like True Promise we have showcased the strong resolve of the Iranian people and the significant popular support for the Islamic Republic," he said, referring to Iran’s retaliatory operations against Israel, dubbed True Promise I and II.
Speaking to Press TV, Iran's IRGC Chief Commander Major General Hossein Salami said the country is prepared to defend against any attacks with its advanced and modern military capabilities.

"With advanced and modern hardware, we are well-prepared to confront formidable challenges. Our weapons and military equipment are fully aligned with global advancements and combined with our highly skilled and dedicated forces, they become even more effective."
The first anti-Israel operation took place in April 2014, with Iran firing more than 300 drones and missiles at military bases in the occupied territories.
It came less than two weeks after a terrorist Israeli strike killed seven IRGC members at the consular annex of Iran’s embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Months later, in October 2024, Iran again launched a barrage of missiles toward Israeli military and intelligence and spying bases in retaliation for the regime’s assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah’s leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and IRGC commander Abbas Nilforoushan.
Later that month, Israeli warplanes used the space available to the US military in Iraq to fire long-range air-to-air missiles at military installations in Iran in flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.
The Israeli act of aggression was successfully intercepted and countered by Iran’s air defense system, but it killed five people, including four Army officers and a civilian.
Iran has vowed a third retaliatory operation against Israel in response to the regime's deadly terrorist assault.
