Rahmatullah Baghban has been working as Press TV’s field reporter in Kabul since September 2021.
Working in the most dangerous country for reporters, Baghban has experience in war journalism. He has covered many stories related to the US invasion of Afghanistan, conflicts and attacks, the US withdrawal, the Taliban takeover as well as various political and humanitarian challenges.
Baghban has conducted interviews with Afghan leaders, senior Taliban officials and non-Afghan authorities.
He graduated from Journalism and Public Relations Faculty of Kabul University in 2018. He started his first media job as a correspondent for the English website of Middle East Press in 2016. Later, he was promoted to the editor-in-chief of the news agency.
Baghban is also a writer and poet. He has worked as a translator and lecturer at Afghan higher education institutions. His poems have been published as part of a collection titled “Padganeh.” Baghban is the author of “Easy English for Self-Learners.” He speaks three languages: Persian, Pashto and English.
