Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran to hold talks with the Islamic Republic’s senior officials on the expansion of bilateral ties and counter-terrorism cooperation.

Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Tehran hails the new chapter of Riyadh-Tehran ties.

The foreign ministers of the two countries held a telephone conversation on Sunday.

“Certain countries, including Sri Lanka, have great capacities for progress if they eliminate foreign interference by colonial powers,” the Iranian president said.
