UK's ex-PM, Libya's former dictator cooperated on abusing dissidents
New documents have been revealed showing how former British prime minister Tony Blair colluded with Libya’s ex-dictator Muammar Ghaddafi over abusing dissidents.
The documents published by the Libyan government show that Libyan dissidents in the UK were kidnapped and flown to Tripoli along with their families. The papers include a letter written by Blair in which he thanks Ghaddafi for QUOTE the excellent cooperation between the two countries’ counter-terrorism agencies. The letter, written in 2007, followed a period during which Ghaddafi's intelligence officers were permitted to operate in the UK, approaching and intimidating Libyan refugees. The attempts were made to persuade refugees to work as informants for the agencies of both countries.
