Ahead of the forthcoming Egyptian-mediated ceasefire negotiations, the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive agreement with the Israeli regime, ensuring the termination of the genocidal war in the besieged Gaza Strip.

A senior Hamas official says the resistance group is willing to free all remaining Israeli captives in return for what he described as a “serious prisoner swap” and a guaranteed end to the genocidal war.

Hamas warns it would reject any agreement that does not lead to a permanent end to the conflict in Gaza.

Hamas says that any further captive-abductee exchanges with Israel will only be possible after the two sides engage in the second phase of Gaza ceasefire negotiations.

Hamas says Israel is "evading the implementation of several provisions of the ceasefire agreement."

Hamas has described ongoing ceasefire talks in Qatar as “serious and positive,” stating that an exchange of captives would be within reach if the Israeli occupation stops raising new conditions.
