UN concerned about water boarding rhetoric in US
The UN Special Rapporteur on torture is concerned about the torture techniques some Republican candidates have mentioned during the presidential race. Juan Mendez says the water boarding technique and harsher ones that some Republicans have spoken of bringing back are unlawful and immoral. He noted that such torture tactics are illegal under international, military, and constitutional law in the US. Only a while ago, Republican candidate Donald Trump indicated that he might order the military to break the law on interrogation tactics, including water boarding before softening his tone a day later. Last month, Republican candidate Ted Cruz also indicated that water boarding was torture and he would allow limited use of the practice. Water boarding was used when former president George Bush was in office. The practice was banned shortly after Barrack Obama took office in 2009.

"Daesh uses chemical agents against Iraqi villages"
Iraqi officials say Daesh terrorists have used poisonous substance in shelling a village in the northern province of Kirkuk. Kirkuk Governor, Najimuddin Karim, says the agents were used as Daesh intensified its shelling on the village of Taza during the past six weeks. Karim said hospitals in Kirkuk confirmed that some of the wounded carried symptoms of chemical substances. He made the comments at a joint press conference with Turkmen parliamentarian, Hassan Touran. The MP said Daesh Takfiri terrorists fired more than 50 rockets possibly contaminated with mustard and chlorine to the village. Meanwhile, Iraqi intelligence officials say U-S Special Forces in the country captured the head of ISIL’s chemical weapons unit in a raid last month.
