Iran says it has seen no kind of cooperation from the U-N and other countries in its fight against illicit drugs. After speaking at a U-N session in Vienna, the Iranian interior minister told Press TV that sanctions are hampering the country's efforts to tackle the crisis. The protesters demanded a resolution that they say allows security forces to use gunfire against opposition demonstrators to be revoked. The Pakistani Army’s military operation against pro-Taliban militants has displaced over 1 million people in North Waziristan tribal region. Now the tribal elders from North Waziristan have organized a meeting in Bannu to urge the government to facilitate the repatriation of refugees.

In New York City, thousands take part in a march on International Women's day. The event comes as many around the world still wait to see promises of gender equality realized.

Egypt's Ministry of Interior has stated that a member of Muslim Brotherhood has been executed. He was convicted of stabbing and throwing off a teenage boy from a building in 2013. The Muslim Brotherhood calls the execution unjust and says such verdicts are part of a larger plan to suppress the opposition.

Women's groups have held protests in the Indian capital New Delhi demanding justice, equality and safety for women on the International Women's Day. Crimes against women in India have risen despite strict laws. Social security programs have not yielded the desired results. Our correspondent in New Delhi Sanjay Sethi has more in this report
