The US Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has warned Americans of the potential for Iranian or resistance retaliatory strikes, identifying “American interests worldwide” as likely targets.
In a statement on Sunday, the mission said Americans currently in the West Asia region “should exercise heightened vigilance due to the complex security environment.”
The Embassy noted that Yemen’s Armed Forces had engaged in retaliatory operations against Saudi Arabia, saying there was a potential for “rapid” escalation “beyond that immediate area.”
The statement came after The Guardian reported that the UAE “has agreed” with Saudi Arabia to resume attacks on Yemen.
“Be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions,” the Embassy wrote. Americans traveling to or from the region “should monitor information about airport and airline operations and develop contingency plans in advance,” it added.
The UAE acted as Saudi Arabia’s main ally when the kingdom launched a combined campaign of unrelenting aggression and blockade against Yemen in 2015.
The campaign went on to claim the lives of tens of thousands of Yemenis without realizing its stated objective of restoring power to Yemen’s pro-Riyadh and Western-backed former officials.
In July, Saudi Arabia bombed Sana’a International Airport, prompting the Yemeni Armed Forces to announce a maritime blockade against the kingdom in response to "an unjust and oppressive siege."

The Yemenis have yet to react to the Emirates’ reported decision to resume aggression against the country, but have consistently acted on their insistence not to tolerate any violation of Yemen’s sovereignty.
The forces have, however, unexceptionally refuted claims of aiming at “civilian targets,” an allegation repeatedly made by the United States and its regional and international allies, which was echoed in the Embassy’s statement too.
The mission also said the Islamic Republic and regional resistance movements “may target other US interests overseas or at locations associated with the United States and Americans throughout the world, including US businesses and other institutions.”
On February 28, the US and the Israeli regime began their latest round of unprovoked aggression against Iran, prompting the Islamic Republic to direct at least 100 waves of determined and successful reprisal against hostile targets across the region.
The targets comprised American and Israeli military outposts and facilities contributing to the perpetration of the aggression, with the Islamic Republic similarly debunking claims of targeting civilian objects.
