Pro-Palestinian protesters have staged rallies in Washington, DC, and European capitals demanding an end to the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and a full arms embargo on the occupying regime.

Protesters gathered outside the US Capitol and other European capital cities on Saturday, condemning the Gaza genocide and calling on Washington to end its support for Tel Aviv.

October 7 marks three years since the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.

Pro-Palestinian protesters carried placards in support of Gaza.

Protesters called on Washington to stop giving the Israelis military and diplomatic aid, demanding that an arms embargo and sanctions be slapped on the Tel Aviv regime.

“We will not let this genocide be normalized,” said Nouhad Akkar, one of the organizers of the rally from the Palestinian Youth Movement.

She said, “We are sending a message to our people in Gaza, to our people in the region, that we will continue to fight for them, not just for an end to the genocide, but until total liberation and return.”

Akkar added they also wanted the US to stop investing funds in Israeli-linked companies.

“We would like to see elected officials take a stand against the investment of this money.”

The US alone has provided at least $25.5bn in appropriations to the Israeli regime since October 7, 2023.

Since then, the US has approved at least $33.16bn in arms transfers to Tel Aviv.

Similar pro-Palestinian rallies were held in European capitals where protesters denounced the ongoing Israeli genocidal war on Gaza.

Pro-Palestinian protesters marched past the British parliament in London, waving Palestine flags and carrying placards reading “End the genocide” and “Free Palestine”.

“We are here today to mark three years of the ongoing genocide in Gaza,” Aimee Shalan, director of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign, told the AFP news agency, calling for “full sanctions on Israel.”

Reports said several of the protesters held placards supporting Palestine Action, a group banned under UK law, and were arrested by London’s Metropolitan (Met) police.

In Germany, thousands marched in Berlin in a rally organized by United for Palestine, police said, setting off from a square between the chancellery and parliament.

The protesters denounced Germany’s arms exports and continued military aid to the Tel Aviv regime.

Rome and Warsaw witnessed similar pro-Palestinian protest rallies, where demonstrators condemned the Israeli regime’s continuous strikes, targeting Gazans on an almost daily basis, and their governments’ continued aid to the Tel Aviv regime.

Despite a US-brokered “ceasefire” reached last in October, the Israeli regime has been repeatedly violating the truce, launching deadly strikes against Gaza’s people, most of them women and children.

So far, at least 74,243 Palestinians have been killed as the Israelis continue to expand across the Palestinian land.

Many countries and international rights groups have repeatedly denounced the civilian killings in Gaza and the wider region, although Israel has blocked independent monitors from entering the Palestinian territory.

Jurists maintain that because the situation in Gaza is legally identified as genocide by the UN and international courts of law, the leaders of the US-led Western countries supplying weaponry to the Israeli regime are responsible and complicit in the Israeli killings of the Palestinians.
