Iran’s acting defense minister has warned the United States against making any miscalculation, saying Iran’s defense capabilities would determine the distance between the two sides.
Acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support Brigadier General Majid Ibn al-Reza made the remarks in a post on X on Thursday, responding to the US tendency to view war and global affairs through speeches, displays of power and military threats.
“He is still drawing the war in the Pentagon’s kindergarten, unaware that the world cannot be divided through speeches and displays. The ‘field’ has the final say,” Ibn al-Reza wrote.“The distance between you and us will be determined by our missiles. Yesterday, the Sea of Oman; today, the Indian Ocean; and tomorrow, the Bay of Pigs. If you make a mistake, you will see a new division of the world,” he added.
The US and the Israeli regime jointly launched an unprovoked aggression on Iran on February 28 by targeting Iran’s top officials and also an elementary school in Minab, south of the country, killing 168 children, teachers, and parents.
In response, the Iranian Armed Forces launched powerful retaliatory attacks against US and Israeli assets in the region, dealing heavy blows to the invading coalition. The war came to a halt after 40 days with a ceasefire, which was then formalized in mid June by signing the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding by the presidents of Iran and the US.
The war inflicted high costs on the aggressors while they failed to achieve their stated objectives of subduing Iran or dismantling its defensive capabilities.
Iran has also maintained a tight grip on the Strait of Hormuz since the early days of the second imposed war.
